About Deo Gratias Poly

Deo Gratias Polytechnic is founded on the principles of the fear of and trust in God, the dream was envisioned several years ago but consumated in 2019 with the approval granted by the Delta State Ministry of Higher Education.

Background

Deo Gratias Polytechnic, established by Professor George Odabi, is an off shoot of Deo Gratias International Group of Schools established in 1970 by Sir and Lady G.I Odabi.

Professor George Odabi is an established educationist born into the family of veteran educationist – Sir and Lady G.I. Odabi. His parents in 1970 established a Nursery School within the precincts of the University of Nsukka and later a Primary School in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja. Professor George Odabi left the shores of Nigeria for United States of America in 1983 where he obtained a first degree, Master’s and Doctorate. Upon his return to Nigeria, he has continued to establish schools in line with the vision of his parents. He has established Primary and Secondary Schools in Garki, Gwarimpa, Mabushi, Sunnyvale, Games Village, Guzape and FHA all in Abuja. In 2017 he was appointed a visiting Professor to Canfield College, London, United Kingdom.

Having achieved so much in Pre and Secondary Education, Professor George Odabi has decided to advance higher to tertiary education hence the venture into Polytechnic Education. Professor George Odabi is also the Director of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Leadership and Business School, Asaba, Delta State.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines Leadership and Business School is a tertiary institution approved by the Ministry of Education. In collaboration with Dr. Andrea Charles-Fidelis a former UK Diplomat to Nigeria, Deo Gratias Polytechnic is geared towards empowering Leaders of today, Executives, Legislators, Councillors, Government Officials, Business Men/Women and Consultants with Professional Proficiency in Leadership and Diplomacy (PLD) Certificate with a membership and an additional Certificate from Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in the UK, upoon graduation the person becomes a Leadership Expert and Diplomat offering Professional Proficiency in Leadership and Diplomacy (PLD). Dr. Levi, the Consular, General St. Vincent and the Grenadines to Nigeria is the Chancellor.

Deo gratias Polytechnic also has a Film academy where students will obtain certificates upon the completion of their courses in all aspect of cinematography.

Deo Gratias Polytechnic is as well a study center for the proposed Anioma Open University, where Professor George Odabi was recently appointed as Vice Chairman, Project and Implementation Committee, all in an effort to consolidate the gains of producing men and women of globally accepted standard of education.

The Polytechnic is in the process of consummating ongoing talks with Tertiary institutions in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in Central America for an international exchange program.

Mission Statement

The mission of Deo Gratias Polytechnic is to promote sound moral, academic and human social policies and programmes that are aimed at bringing out the best in our students, staff and stakeholders, including the parents and guardians of our students.

We also hope, and truly intend to impact on our immediate community in Agbor and its environs, such that they will unconsciously and invariably key into the dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers and financiers of the Polytechnic.
